Quality Improvement
Colorado Shines Quality Rating and Improvement System
To apply for a Colorado Shines Level 2:
- Log into QRIS at coloradoshines.com
- Complete application, click on each of the tabs at the top and complete all the information under the tabs.
- Family Child Care Providers must complete 10 hours of Level 2 trainings in PDIS. Child Care Programs must have an average across all staff of 75% of staff completing 10 hours of Level 2 trainings in PDIS.
- Click “Submit Application” when all boxes on the right are green*
- Click on “QIP”
- Complete one quality improvement plan goal
- Click “complete QIP”
- Click on “Level 1-2”
- Click on “L2 Quality Indicator Program Self Assessment”
- Complete the self Assessment
- Click on “Complete Assessment”
- Go back to the home page and click on “Submit for L2″.

Colorado Shines Grant
Colorado Shines Quality Improvement Grant
Triad Early Childhood Council is happy to announce that the CSQI grant is available in your Colorado Shines Account. To apply for the grant, please follow these steps:
- Log into Coloradoshines.com
- Click “Application”, complete each tab in the application, ensuring to click the white box at the top saying each section is done.
- On the right hand side of the application, when all the boxes are green, click “Submit Application”
- Click on “Quality Improvement”
- Click on “QIP”, complete 1 QIP goal
- Click “QIP Complete”
- Click on “QI Incentives”, follow the prompts to apply for the CSQI grant.
After you have submitted the grant, it will be reviewed and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be sent to you to be signed digitally. After July 1, 2020, if your MOU is signed, then you will be contacted by an Early Care and Education Site Coach to begin your quality work together.
If you are missing any steps, you will be contacted by the Quality Improvement Navigator to help you finish any steps.
